Hamish Gane is an artist & researcher with a practice predicated on notions of memory and melancholia, often explored through the optic of the family. In 2013 he was awarded a PhD for his practice-based thesis entitled: Photography, Melancholy, Family: Spaces Beyond Representation. His current praxis explores post-representational concepts of photography.
Work has been exhibited widely in solo and group shows. He supervises PhD study, manages research degrees and contributes to the MA Contemporary Dialogues programme at Swansea College of Art, UWTSD.
