Hamish Gane is an artist & writer whose research is predicated on notions of photography, memory and melancholia, predominantly explored through the optic of the family. In 2013 he was awarded a PhD for his practice-based thesis entitled: Photography, Melancholy, Family: Spaces Beyond Representation. His current praxis explores post-representational concepts of photography.

Work has been exhibited widely in solo and group shows. He supervises PhD study and oversees the MA Contemporary Dialogues programme at Swansea College of Art, UWTSD.
